Granbury Brigade Started
While
director of Granbury Convention & Visitors Bureau, Pam Summers developed a
committee of Members…
John & Barbara Boozer, Julia Pannell, Buddy Harper
and Patrick & Linda Stoll.
The purpose of this committee was to develop a volunteer team that could/would
assist HGMA, the City, the Chamber of Commerce and other non-profit
organizations in providing needed volunteer jobs for festivals and events in
Granbury, Texas. The purpose was to be
volunteer core-based, not an event producing organization. The 3rd year, the Brigade was
issued a non-profit status by the state requested in order to accept
sponsorships for monthly meetings, etc.
At this time, the Brigade Board voted to expand the purpose of the
creation of the Brigade in order to have booths at festivals and a Brigade
Memorial Day Event to create funds for the budget (insurance, food, etc.) for
the Brigade as no dues have ever been collected.
